      1. Title page: Include the title in both English and Serbian, full author names with affiliations, and the corresponding author’s contact information (email and phone). Also include the word count.
      2. Abstract: Required for all submissions. For original research, the abstract must be structured into Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion, and must not exceed 250 words. Both English and Serbian versions are required.
      3. Keywords: Provide 3-6 relevant keywords. These may be adjusted to align with Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) standards.

      6. Tables and figures: These should either be included at the end of the manuscript or submitted as separate files. We recommend limiting tables and figures to six, with appropriate titles and legends, numbered in the order of their appearance in the text. Ensure figures are high-resolution (minimum 300 dpi). For previously published tables, graphs, diagrams or figures, provide the original source and written permission from the copyright holder. Please note that color attachments will be available online, while printed versions will be in black and white unless color printing is specifically requested by authors, which incurs additional costs.
      7. Abbreviations: Non-standard abbreviations must be explained in footnotes using standard symbols (e.g., *, †, ‡).

      3. Ethical Considerations

All submissions must comply with ethical research standards. Research involving human subjects requires approval from an Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee. Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest. Informed consent is required for case reports or studies involving human subjects.

      4. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through our online submission system at http://aseestant.ceon.rs/index.php/medpreg/.  The corresponding author should create an account http://aseestant.ceon.rs/index.php/medpreg/user/register, complete the required fields, and upload the manuscript.

      5. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. Authors will receive initial feedback within 4-6 weeks. Reviewers will provide recommendations for revisions or acceptance based on a detailed evaluation of the manuscript.

      6. Revised Manuscripts

If revisions are requested, submit the revised manuscript through the same system. Authors must include a detailed response to reviewers’ comments, and clearly highlight changes made in the revised manuscript.

      7. Plagiarism and AI Use

We maintain a strict anti–plagiarism policy. Authors are responsible for checking their manuscripts for plagiarism before submission. The journal uses plagiarism detection tools and requires the similarity index (SI) below 12%. Manuscripts with SI between 13% and 30% will be returned to the authors for revision. In cases of suspected plagiarism, we follow Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.

Regarding AI use, authors are not required to disclose the use of AI tools for text editing. This includes improvements in readability, grammar, spelling, and style, but excludes autonomous content generation. Human oversight is required to ensure the final text accurately reflects the authors’ original work.

      8. Multiple Submissions

The manuscript must include a supplementary file stating that the manuscript has not been submitted or accepted for publication elsewhere. This file must also include a consent form signed by all authors. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals is prohibited. In such cases, the Editor reserves the right to reject the manuscript and notify the other journals and/or the authors’ affiliated institutions.
